With the Government’s announcement this week (4 June 2020) of the HomeBuilder grant to help stimulate the building industry, now is a good time to reconsider building a home or renovating your existing home.
HomeBuilder will complement existing State and Territory First Home Owner Grant programs, stamp duty concessions and other grant schemes, as well as the Commonwealth’s First Home Loan Deposit Scheme and First Home Super Saver Scheme. (The Treasury, 4 June, 2020).
People can receive $25,000 toward building a new home or substantially renovating your existing home.
This is paid for a new home build (including land) up to $750,000 or renovations from $150,000 up to $750,000 and must not exceed $1.5 million. The grant will be available to building contracts signed between 4 June and 31 December, 2020.
All construction and renovations must be completed by a licensed builder in your state or territory.
For detailed information on eligibility of the grant, view Australian Government Treasury FAQ’s here.
New luxury home builds
With more than 30 years experience, the team at Nikal know how to build the home of your dreams.
We follow a 7 Step Process to build a home for your peace of mind. This includes:
Initial Meeting With You
We will meet with you to discuss your home build to understand your desires, choices and budget for the home.
We will then provide you with information on the stages of building the home.
On site inspection
We will inspect the site to assess the characteristics of the land, slope, views and planning requirements for approval.
Home design
We will work with you and your Architect to design the home the way you want it. We will conduct soil testing and produce a report to help with the planning and construction of the home.
Quote and pricing
At this stage we will be able to provide you with an accurate quote that meets your budget. This is a large investment so we make sure everything is clear and right for you.
Proceed with the build
Once the contracts are agreed upon and signed, we will schedule the timeline of the build.
Construction starts
We will now commence the construction phase of the build. You are also invited to visit the site and see how it looks and make changes if necessary.
Hand over and moving in
We will conduct a full assessment of the build prior to handing you the keys to your new home. We also schedule a follow up 30 days later and 12 months later once the home has experienced all the seasons in the year.
Renovations
Renovations must improve accessibility, liveability and safety and security of a property. This does not include items such as a pool, shed or tennis court.
At Nikal, we can provide professional home renovation design and construction services for your home. We’re experienced in all types of renovations including kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and open plan spaces.
We can also construct home extensions including new rooms and entertainment areas. We can assist with the design and council approvals as required.
This is also a good time to arrange pest control for a new home and renovations. This can include termite barriers and the removal of existing pests found when renovating.
This will ensure your home is protected from destructive pests like termites for the long term.
Arrange a free consultation
If you would like to discuss your options with the HomeBuilder grant and building a home or renovations, simply arrange a free consultation with us. We can then provide you with the relevant documentation and quote for your Home Builder grant application. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
