Choosing a builder to construct your new home or complete renovations can be time-consuming. Finding the best builder on the Gold Coast can take time and effort. There are hundreds of builders in the area so how do you choose the right one for your project?
Best Builder Gold Coast
When researching a builder online, check to see that they have the right licenses and insurances in place.
This can be done by visiting industry websites including the QBCC, QLD Master Builders Association. You can check they have a valid license to build here and if there are any issues with the builder’s history of work. Insurance should include public liability and home building compensation as a minimum.
Check Their Portfolio
Most good builders will have a website that shows photos of the work they have done as the finished product. You will easily see the quality of the work here, in some instances, there may be an address shown so you could drive by and take a look. Other people might also give you recommendations on a builder they know or have personally used.
Experience
Experience plays a big part in constructing or renovating a home. The builder’s skills will be developed over many years of building and refining their skills for the best outcome possible. Often, builders with decades of experience are the preferred choice as they have high attention to detail and traditional skills that produce very high-quality work.
The Building Process
The process of building a house can feel mysterious to some. It may seem technical with some unknowns. The good news is that we will work closely with you from the start to give you peace of mind and clarity on the processes.
We follow a 7 Step process with all building projects, this includes:
Initial Meet and Greet
We will meet with you to discuss your project and look at all the options available. We will then explain all steps of the construction process and duration to you.
Site Inspection
Before we can begin, we will inspect the land to understand its characteristics. This covers the slope of the land, potential views from the home and planning requirements.
Home Design
We will discuss the design of the home and look at the materials we can use and your choice of design. This will then form part of the quotation for the home based on the types of materials to be used and construction methods.
The Quote
Here we will provide you with a detailed quote based on our design discussions. We will discuss this with you so we maintain your budget requirements. If we need to change anything here, we can do so to achieve this.
Sign Off Agreement
Once you are satisfied with the quote, we can sign off on the project. We then schedule a start date and the timeline for the project together with local council requirements.
Start Building
We will now commence the construction process. You are welcome to attend the site and review the progress. If you want to make changes, we can discuss this and implement the changes.
Moving In
Once the building is complete, you can move in. Prior to this we will conduct a thorough inspection of the building and check for any issues. We do a follow up inspection 30 days later and 12 months later to assess how the building has settled with the weather over time.
