Clean Lines Custom Home Design

The owner of this stunning new custom built home had a real focus on creating a unique open plan design that had a natural clean line finished look. There are so many unique features to this home however there are really three standouts that created an aesthetically appealing finish to this property.

Concealed Roof and Downpipes

From the street view you can not see any down pipes or gutters on the exterior of this house. In fact, you can’t even see the roof! All drainage is concealed and hidden within the walls and beneath or through the concrete house slab. The roof itself is set back from the exterior of the house with a flat edge, creating the illusion of no roof whilst still providing an effective stormwater drainage system.

The house was built on a sloping block and the design has intentionally allowed for the natural run off of drainage water around the right side of the property.

Floating Balcony

At the rear of the property, overlooking the natural bushland corridor is a large floating balcony extending from the second level. This creates two sitting areas, one upstairs accessed from the master bedroom to enjoy the warmth of the sun from the privacy of your own balcony and an elevated position.

Downstairs is a large outdoor entertaining area with a built-in BBQ and bench space. The unique engineering of the balcony means there are no poles obstructing your view. It creates an open space to enjoy your surroundings.

Galvanised Steel & Solid Timber Internal Staircase

The wooden staircase is framed with galvanised steel and a glass balustrade railing. On one side of the staircase is floor to ceiling fixed windows to invite natural lighting in and open up the area. On the other side are wooden slats that separate the stairwell from the home office. The custom interior design of both the stairwell and the slat dividers allows you to see straight through the stairs to the natural environment outside.

Upstairs there is a chiprock wall with a timber top to create a shadow line on the staircase.

All office and kitchen cupboards are built up to 2.7meters in height to reduce the need for bulkheads and have a clean finish while maximising storage space.

A cavity slider door with rubber seals divides the kitchen, living and offices areas to block out sound travelling through the house. This creates a quiet space to either work in the office or to relax and read a book or watch TV in the living spaces.
The walk in robes are generous in size to allow for plenty of effective storage of all of his and her clothing and shoes.
In the bathroom you’ll find large 600mm x 900mm ceramic tiles from the floor to ceiling, beside the bath is a custom built shelf at 1.2m high which is ideal to place any decor to finish the look in the room.
